Rabbids Go Home is the Nintendo DS version of Rabbids Go Home for the Nintendo Wii, that was released to coincide with the Wii version's release. Unlike the console version of the game, it is a strategy-based puzzle game akin to games such as The Incredible Machine and Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2: March of the Minis. It is also the first and only game in the Rabbids series to have enhanced camera features only for use on the DSi and later DS consoles and is the last game in the series to be released on the Nintendo DS.

Gameplay
The gameplay of this version is similar to that of the console version in the sense that the player has a Rabbid ride inside a shopping cart and collect items for the Rabbids moon pile, before transporting down a toilet. The exception is that rather than being a platformer, the player has to solve a puzzle by using whatever utilities the player has for each puzzle, and depending on where these are placed, the Rabbid in the shopping cart will move by itself. Not every utility has to be used in order to solve the puzzle. At least one object must be collected before the Rabbid can go down the toilet, though many puzzles have more than 1 object that can be collected. If the player collects less than 100% of the objects, then they'll get a silver shopping cart icon on the level select, whereas getting 100% will make the shopping cart icon gold.
In later levels, a Verminator appears to sabotage parts of the puzzle. This can range from shooting green inflatable barriers in the shopping cart Rabbids path, to shooting a green mask over the rocket punches, making them unable to punch Rabbids and objects. The only way to revert this and solve the puzzle it to tap the green sabotages away with the stylus. In the bonus levels they shoot green barriers over the containers blocking the projectiles, and the only way to remove those it to use a toiler paper roll that it on fire to burn it away. They also shoot bombs which empty the containers, and spike balls that cause the projectiles to explode upon contact. There is no way of destroying these and the only way around them is to draw certain lines that redirect the projectiles.
Levels
There are five areas in the game. Every area consists of 3 "Zones" that have 10 puzzles each. There's an 11th bonus level that's required to unlock the next Zone on the player's first play through on a fresh save file. All but the bonus level in each Zone ends by going down a toilet, while in the 10th level, the Rabbid goes down a portable toilet (WC). Each of the bonus levels also unlocks an item to use in the build mode. To unlock the third bonus Zone of each area, the player must 100% (gold) at least 1 Zone from the area. The areas are as follows:
- Building Site
- Miami
- Theme Park
- Las Vegas
- Dump
Bonus Levels
These bonus levels represent the moon pile in which the player has to catch items. This is done by drawing lines with the stylus to guide the items into a container, as it is being shot out of a cannon by a Rabbid. If the player touches a line after it has been drawn, it will be converted into a trampoline which will make the items bounce off of it in the opposite direction. The main 2 items are pink toilet paper, like in the Dump area, and a helmet. Sometimes a container will be on fire which makes the toilet paper burn. In this case, only helmets will work. Sometimes the cannon will shoot out a bomb which will make the items in the container fly out. The player has to either draw a line to block it or make it bounce away with a trampoline. Sometimes a Verminator will show up and spawn mines in the air which makes any objects explode if they touch them. The player can destroy them by using the bombs from a Rabbid's cannon. The Verminator can also shoot a green line that covers a container and the only way to get rid of it, is for the player to guide a bomb to it so it explodes while touching it.
Utilities
Throughout the game, the player is given several utilities to help them solve a puzzle. These include the following:
Main Level Utilities
- Brick: These are often used to fill gaps in the floor or to make walls. These work vertically or horizontally.
- Brick (thin): The same as a brick but objects can go through it from beneath when going upwards.
- Ramp: These are often used to fill gaps in the floor. They can also be used to redirect balloons when placed above them. These work diagonally.
- Ramp (thin): The same as a ramp but objects can go through it from beneath when going upwards.
- Rocket Punch: These propel Rabbids and objects in the direction the boxing glove is facing. This one works diagonally.
- Bouncing Boxing Glove: These propel Rabbids and objects in the direction the boxing glove is facing. This one works vertically.
- Bowling Ball: It is a heavy object that can crush destructible objects similar to a safe but it can roll along slanted surfaces.
- Scissors: Mainly used to cut ropes.
- Wooden Crate: Can be used in the same way as a ramp but it can also be crushed by heavy objects.
- Bull: These huge creatures can kick Rabbids or other objects. If something is in front of the bull it will be hit vertically. If something is behind the bull it will be hit diagonally.
- Rabbid Bag: This object can spawn 3 or 6 Rabbids depending on the "curved arrow" setting when touching it with the stylus.
- Helium Balloon: These float vertically unless attached to a heavy object with a rope. It can lift most lighter objects, such as Rabbids and level objects. it doesn't always need rope to raise objects if they're balanced on top of it.
- Fan: These propel Rabbids and other objects in the direction that the fan is facing, either vertically or horizontally.
- Helium Tank: These cause Rabbids to inflate and float upwards temporarily. They will keep moving in a certain direction while floating if they interact with the corner of a wall, an object and especially a fan.
- Rope: Ropes can be attached to most other objects, including Rabbids. It is often used to attach objects to balloons or safes.
- Pulley: These are required for rope to be attached to them and hold it steady.
- Safe: These are often attached to ropes and used to weigh things down. This also works with balloons.
- Destructible Wall: These are often used as gap fillers, and can be broken by heavy objects. Rabbids can also break them by landing on them or by getting distracted by a Boombox that is playing music on top of it. They will start bouncing on the ground and break it.
- Basketball: Similar to the bowling ball, this rolls on the ground, but it also bounces around wildly when it comes into contact with anything. It can be used to break crates and destructible walls.
- Boombox: These cause Rabbids to bounce on the ground, and are often used in conjunction with destructible walls (when used as a floor).
- Dog: These chase Rabbids and try to bite them. If a Rabbid is being bitten then the player can blow into the console's microphone and free them.
- Octopus: These are attached to ropes and used by Rabbids as a zip line by clinging onto their tentacles. If an octopus ends up on the ground not attached to a rope and next to a Rabbid, then the Rabbid will kick it off screen which defeats it. This is the only interaction like this in the game aside from the Verminator.
- Washing Machines: These are often used to teleport Rabbids or objects and come in Red, Yellow and Blue. Normally 2 of them will teleport things if they are both the same colour. However, if multiple are present in the same colour, then anything traveling between them with cycle through them in a specific order. If the player places them, then it will be based on which one they placed first. If they are already placed when the level starts, then it depends on each level.
- TV: These distract Rabbids that are underneath them until they are turned off by being hit with something or losing power from a generator or a treadmill.
- Baseball Bat: This is used by Rabbids to hit other Rabbids or objects sending them flying in the opposite direction. They are single use.
- Generator: This is used to power treadmills, TVs and [Time Washing Machine|Washing Machines]]. When those objects are set to have a power line they must be powered by a Rabbid running on a treadmill connected to it, otherwise they will be turned off. If a Rabbid comes into contact with the power line then they will get electrocuted and their skeleton is visible from an xray.
- Treadmill: Used by Rabbids running on them to power treadmills, TVs and Washing Machines.
- Gun: Similar to a baseball bat in that a Rabbid must use them and they are single use. They shoot one bullet that can break boxes and ropes, or cause Rabbids or other object to move in the opposite direction.
- Plunger: Similar to a baseball bat in that a Rabbid must use them and they are single use. They shoot a line with the end of a plunger that flies out in a straight line until it hits something. Then the Rabbid that shot it is propelled towards where it landed, or got stuck to.
Object Utilities
- Shopping Cart: This is the main Rabbid that the player must guide through the level while collecting objects to win.
- Object: These vary in design based on the area being played. The shopping cart Rabbid has to collect these to win the level.
- Toilet: This is the end goal of the level except for the 10th puzzle in each Zone, which is a portable toilet (WC).
- Verminator: These shoot ITs on various puzzle elements to stop the shopping cart Rabbid from completing the level. The player has to touch them with the stylus to remove them temporarily. The Verminator will shoot them again after a few seconds in the order that they were tapped. If a Rabbid lands on top of a Verminator's head it will defeat it. This is the only interaction like this in the game aside from the Octopus.
- IT: These are what the Verminator shoots to block the shopping cart Rabbid's path.
- Human: These have a man and old lady version but they're both the same. Rabbids that come into contact with these will steal their clothes making them naked and they will fall down off the screen being defeated. A puzzle object will be spawned that the shopping cart Rabbid can collect. This is the only interaction like this in the game aside from the Vacuum Cleaner.
- Vacuum Cleaner: Rabbids that come into contact with these will have their face be sucked into the hose and they will fall down off the screen being defeated. 3 puzzle objects will be spawned that the shopping cart Rabbid can collect. This is the only interaction like this in the game aside from the Human.
- Chihuahua: These are similar to a normal puzzle object except that when they are near a shopping cart they will run towards them and be collected like a normal object. If they are near a normal Rabbid they will run and follow behind them. They will stop and wait for the Rabbid to catch up and continue moving before moving themselves.
- Rabbid: These are needed for a lot of puzzles because they can interact with most puzzle utilities.
- [The last 10 in the gallery are cutscenes that don't add anything new.]
Challenges
While playing the game, the player can unlock 4 different challenges, which each have 20 levels. Similar to the main game, the player must get at least a silver completion on each level to unlock the next one. The levels can be also be 100% but it doesn't unlock anything. Unlike the main game, the first 3 challenges only involve Rabbids, without a shopping cart Rabbid.
Air-bunny
"Pick up as many objects as you can without your Rabbid touching the ground."
This challenge involves placing puzzle utilities like in the normal levels, but instead of there being a Shopping Cart Rabbid, it's a single Rabbid. The Rabbid needs to use the various utilities to pick up point orbs, instead of objects, before touching the ground. Once the Rabbid touches the ground, the level ends and the overall score is calculated.
Addicted to TV
"Place 2 Rabbids under each TV set so they don't miss their favourite TV show."
This challenge doesn't require placing any puzzle utilities, but rather the player can manipulate the various utilities and walls, floors, ect. instead. When they are touched by the player, the "double arrow" icon appears allowing them to rotate it, similar to playing a normal puzzle.
Rabbids, go away!
"Take Advantage of the Rabbids' snooze to eject them all off the screen."
This challenge involves using puzzle utilities to manipulate the sleeping Rabbids to walk off or fly off the edge of the screen. Unlike the other challenges, this one requires the player to complete the entire objective, and not just the minimum, to beat the level. This means that getting a silver completion will count as failing the level, and the player will need to retry it and get a gold completion to unlock the next level.
A toilet, a shopping cart.
"Objects galore! Position the shopping cart and toilet to pick up as many items as possible."
This challenge involves placing the shopping cart Rabbid and the Toilet in an already designed puzzle. The player has to collect point orbs instead of objects, similar to Air-bunny.

DSi Enhanced Edition
After the original release of the game, there was an updated version that included features that utilized the DSi and later DS' cameras. If this version of the game is being run on a DSi or a 3DS/2DS, the player can access an extra feature on the main menu. This allows them to take a picture of something with either of the console's cameras, and use buttons on the touch screen to manipulate the image in various ways.
"Create a funny scene with these Rabbid animations!"
Section 1
"First step, choose an animation"
When the [1] button is selected, two [<|>] buttons appear in the bottom left, allowing the player to cycle through one of 6 animations for the Rabbid to perform. The ▲ menu is disabled on this screen.
Section 2
"Second Step, take a picture"
When the [2] button is selected, an image button appears in the bottom left which allows the player to take a picture for the background. A picture is required to be taken for the ■ button to become the ▶ button, which allows the animation to play and for the image to be saved. The ▲ menu on the bottom right also becomes available that has several options:
- Changing the camera to be flipped vertically or not
- Applying one of 5 colour filters
- Cycling through one of 4 camera modes
- Switching between the front facing or rear facing cameras
Section 3
"Third Step, use the mask to hide the Rabbids"
When the [3] button is selected, the player can add a mask to the image on the layer above the Rabbid. The ▲ menu is available again that has several more options:
- Modify Mask: Switches the opacity of the mask between 50% or none
- Edit Mask: Eraser for erasing parts of the mask, which are the only parts that show the Rabbid in the final image
- Move Mask: Allows the mask to be moved around with the stylus
- New Mask: Resets the mask to the default unedited state
Bugs
In Theme Park, Zone 1, Puzzle 5, it is impossible to 100% the level, even if you use hints to "perfectly" place the objects. [This has only been shown to happen on the DSi Enhanced Edition.]
If the touch screen is repeatedly tapped very quickly when the shopping cart Rabbid starts entering the toilet at the end of a level, and done with extremely precise timing, the level's bottom object menu will show on top of the results screen. The game is now soft locked and because the only way to change screens in the game is via the touchscreen, the game has to be restarted to fix the bug.
It is possible to have the shopping cart Rabbid interact with certain placed objects, making it turn around and move really fast in the opposite direction for seemingly no reason. Placing the objects in the same exact way that caused the bug to happen, after exiting and returning to the level, seems to not work, making it very inconsistent. [This has only been shown to happen in Miami, Zone 1, Puzzle 5.]
