A Georgetown man who pleaded guilty to armed robbery has been sent to prison.According to Solicitor Jimmy Richardson, Thomas Jermaine Blake, 37, was sentenced to 18 years by Circuit Court Judge Thomas Cooper on Thursday.

Alleged Piggly Wiggly armed robber arrested

The Georgetown Police Department says a man accused ofan armed robbery at Piggly Wiggly Wednesday evening has been arrested. The police incident report, requested by GAB News,says officers were called to the store a little before 8:30 PM Wednesday. They met with workers who said a man – later identifiedby police as Jihad Sharif Nicklson – entered the store and walked to theproduce section.One of the workers said she was suspicious, so shefollowed him, the report states. She said he walked to the meat section whereshe saw him place three packs of steak in his jacket.The report states Nicklson noticed he was beingwatched and then ran to the exit. The worker said when she tried stopping him,Nicklson allegedly pulled out a knife and said “Ima cut you.” The worker thenbacked away and Nicklson fled the area on foot. He was last seen runningtowards Duke Street.Warrants charging Nicklson with armed robbery wereobtained. At around 12:15 AM Thursday, the warrants were served on Nicklson.The report states he refused to be handcuffed by placing his arms underneathhis body.Nicklson continuously stated "let me smoke mycrack" while clutching his hand, the report states. He continuouslyignored officers commands to show his hands. Officers were finally able to gethim in handcuffs and he was taken to jail.

Man who GCSO says filed a false report is also charged with a shooting in Myrtle Beach

A Georgetown man – out of jail on bond because of a shooting incident in Myrtle Beach – accidently shot himself Wednesday morning and then filed a false report, the Sheriff’s Office says. Charles Lowrimore, 27, showed up at the Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital very early Wednesday with a gunshot wound on his leg, the Sheriff’s Office reports.He told deputies he’d been shot walking home from a friend’s house in the Parsons Garden area. Because it was learned he shot himself, Lowrimore is charged with filing a false police report.Lowrimore is out of jail on bond because of a Feb. 29 shooting incident outside the 3001 Night Life Club in the 900 block of Lake Arrowhead Road.Police say a woman was outside the club when she saw an altercation between Lowrimore and another person. She said she heard a shot ring and then felt a burning sensation on her leg.During the altercation, Lowrimore allegedly fired a shot at the man he was fighting but missed. The bullet grazed the leg of the woman who was standing nearby.Lowrimore was charged with first-degree assault and battery, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.He was released from jail under a $45,000 bond.The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office is still looking for Lowrimore. Anyone who knows his whereabouts is urged to call the Sheriff’s Office.
