Feature idea: Implementation of a fairy soul compass (2024)

As we all know, fairy souls are very time-consuming to get, even if you watch a YouTube tutorial.

Now, I know there will be comments saying "just use a client/mod," but the problem is, no one should have to do that to find fairy souls. With RATting and whatnot being very common, it is dangerous to think about downloading any third-party client or mod.

This feature already kind of exists: relic compass. In the Spider Den, a compass that you get points to where a relic is. This same idea is what I am talking about for fairy souls.

Also fairy armour plays a sound when near a fairy soul

badlion (and lunar afaik) has a fairy soul tracker its not like you need to travel to the depths of the internet to find a treasure map leading to a safe github link lmao

Yes, because every Minecraft player that stumbles upon Skyblock knows about badlion, lunar, etc.. clients that are all safe? Like I said, you shouldn't have to use a third party source to find them anyways. It's just not safe and it's easily exploitable.

Good idea on the fairy armor. I had no clue that existed. How do you craft it + what's the tree you unlock it from?

you don't, it's just mildly inconvenient. if you don't want to download a mod use a yt vid, and if you don't have access to yt just get them the normal way

you can also just not get them, they're like 2 sb levels

p sure they're both much harder to find than blc/lunar though, and require you to also have forge

forge is the superior client

also unironically who is using lunar specifically for skyblock

Back to the post itself, the fairy soul compass adds an easy alternative to having to install mods, a client, or watch a YouTube video.

This reminds me of Terraria in a sense; How do you summon the queen bee?-- just look at the wiki.

How do I find fairy souls?-- just download badlion client

How about just keeping the player base inside of the game and not using anything third-party related to help progress?

And it's also not something to chalk down to, "oh you don't even have to do it anyways". You don't have to find the relics in spider den but they offer a compass that points to them..

they give helpful amounts of coins and the ability to summon t2 arachne, fairy souls give a few hundred sbxp

you can get them with a mod, yt vid, etc, but also just the intended way: playing the game.

You do need to get them up to a certain point to unlock all backpack slots, which is just a very useful feature.

Back to the, "how are you supposed to know how to make a nether portal without looking it up". Just spend hundreds of hours looking over every square inch of the map to find them. That's also plausible. But keep neglecting what I said lol, the fairy soul compass is literally a game implemented alternative that helps

nether portals are literally vital for basic progression while fairy souls are almost completely cosmetic

it doesnt take 100s of hours, max 20 hours if you use the fairy armor, and at least 100 souls are obvious enough that youll find em in a normal playthrough
